Ingredients:
- 9 lasagne noodles
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup diced cooked chicken breast optional
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375F 190C
Cook lasagne noodles according to package instructions
Drain and set aside
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat
Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute
Gradually whisk in milk until smooth
Cook until thickened, stirring constantly
Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese until melted
Season cheese sauce with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper
Mix well
In a greased baking dish, spread a layer of cheese sauce on the bottom
Layer 3 lasagne noodles over the sauce
Top with half of the peas and chicken if using
Repeat layers, ending with a layer of cheese sauce on top
Sprinkle remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the top
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes
Then, remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until bubbly and golden
Let it cool slightly before serving
