Paleo Caesar Salad

A tasty paleo Caesar salad that can be made without dairy. It's a great way to eat something healthy and filling. Making a paleo Caesar dressing is easy, and it tastes great. The nutritional yeast makes it cheesy. For extra indulgence, you can add crispy bacon and paleo croutons that you make yourself.

Ingredients:

  • 2 heads of romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 cup paleo Caesar dressing see instructions below
  • 1/2 cup paleo croutons optional, see instructions below
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast for dairy-free cheesy flavor
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup chopped cooked bacon optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Wash and chop the romaine lettuce, then place it in a large salad bowl

In a small bowl, mix the paleo Caesar dressing with nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor

Adjust salt and pepper to taste

Toss the lettuce with the Caesar dressing until well coated

If desired, add chopped cooked bacon for extra flavor and crunch

Sprinkle sliced almonds over the salad for added texture

For paleo croutons optional: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C

Cut paleo bread such as almond flour or coconut flour-based into small cubes

Toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt

Spread the cubes on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown

Let the croutons cool before adding them to the salad

Serve the paleo Caesar salad with optional croutons and enjoy!
